Important Update Regarding Your TruStage® Loan Protection Coverage

At Members First Credit Union, keeping you informed is important to us. We want to make you aware of a service disruption currently impacting TruStage®, the provider of Loan Protection insurance coverage associated with some member loans.

TruStage recently identified a cybersecurity incident and is actively working with cybersecurity experts to investigate the issue and restore impacted systems. As a result, some member services, including loan protection payment processing, is temporarily affected.

What This Means for You

If you currently have TruStage Loan Protection Coverage, you may notice that your monthly premium payment was not advanced as expected.

The good news is:

Your coverage remains active.

TruStage has advised that members with active Loan Protection coverage will continue to be covered during this service disruption, even if premium payments are not currently being collected.

Do I Need to Take Any Action?

At this time, no action is required to maintain your coverage.

What About Missed Payments?

At this time, TruStage has not provided guidance regarding how missed Loan Protection payments will be handled once systems are fully restored.

While it is possible that more than one premium payment could become due in the future, TruStage has not yet confirmed what that process will look like. We will share updates as soon as additional information becomes available.

Protecting Yourself from Fraud

TruStage has also reported that some individuals may receive fraudulent phone calls or communications related to this incident.

TruStage is not currently sending communications requesting payments or advising customers that they are delinquent on a policy payment. If you receive such communication, do not click on any links, provide personal information, or submit payment information.

Please remember:

  • Do not provide passwords, security codes, account information, or payment details to unsolicited callers.
  • If you are unsure whether communication is legitimate, contact TruStage through its official channels or reach out to Members First Credit Union for assistance.
