Members First Welcomes New Additions to Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee
Members First Credit Union officially introduced its newest additions to the credit union’s esteemed Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee. Reneé Deckrow, renowned founder of Live Oak Coffeehouse and Joe Kreusch, accomplished President at Burkhart-Presidio Insurance Agency, join the Board of Directors; Marybeth Penkala, the Director of Membership & Partner Engagement for the Midland Business Alliance, joins the Supervisory Committee.
Reneé Deckrow is a well-known figure in the Midland community. As the owner and founder of Live Oak Coffeehouse, Captured Studios, and Captured Properties, Deckrow has built successful businesses in the Midland community while actively fostering community connections. She has actively participated in organizations such as Public Arts Midland, Midland Noon Rotary, Midland Area Community Foundation and the Midland Area Wellbeing Coalition, earning her numerous community awards and recognitions for her commitment.

As someone who deeply values community connection, financial literacy, and accessibility, I believe that credit unions can play a vital role in empowering individuals and communities with the trusted financial resources they need to achieve their goals, pursue dreams and thrive. Joe Kreusch, who assumed his role on the Board of Directors after serving since 2007 on the Supervisory Committee, is an active member in the Midland community. Kreusch is a board member of the Strategic Benefits Network and involved in the Midland Business Alliance Government Advocacy Council. Serving as President at Burkhart-Presidio Insurance Agency, Kreusch brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience. Joe actively contributes to the development of his hometown community of Gladwin as well, with his involvement in the Gladwin Downtown Development Authority. He is recognized as a Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Platinum Agent and a member of the Healthcare.gov Elite Circle of Champions. Joe Kreusch’s commitment to various organizations and his hometown of Gladwin is exemplary.
Marybeth Penkala, in addition to her role on the Supervisory Committee, serves as the Director of Membership & Partner Engagement for the Midland Business Alliance, is a member of the Young Leaders United Executive Council, a board member for Safe & Sound Child Advocacy Center, sits on the Midland Area Community Foundation Scholarship Committee, and represents Self-Love Beauty as an ambassador. Her active engagement in the Midland community underscores her dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of others.
“I was thrilled to be asked to join the Members First Credit Union Supervisory Committee,” expressed Penkala. “In the past I have worked in the credit union world and truly believe the philosophy of people helping people. Through this new role, I look forward to serving the credit union, its members, and the community.”
Composed of dedicated volunteers, the Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee actively contribute to steering the course and endorsing decisions made by the executive leadership team, all aimed at delivering exceptional credit union services to their members and communities. With strategic direction at the forefront, the Board, under the leadership of Bob Cooper, comprises longstanding members driven by an unwavering commitment to prioritize the best interests of the credit union's membership.
