M1 Bay City Branch Groundbreaking
Members First Credit Union has officially broken ground on its future Bay City branch located at 3697 E. Wilder Road, marking an important milestone and a meaningful investment in Bay City.
The new branch will serve as a community financial wellness hub, offering accessible resources, personalized service, and meaningful support for members and the Bay City community. The project reflects Members First’s commitment to growing alongside Bay City—supporting its continued vitality, momentum, and long-term wellbeing.
The ceremonial groundbreaking included remarks from Bay City Mayor Chris Girard and Magen Samyn, President of the Bay Area Chamber of Commerce, both of whom spoke to the importance of collaboration, investment, and shared vision for Bay City.
“Today’s groundbreaking builds upon the strong momentum already happening here in Bay City and reflects our belief in growing with communities that are vibrant, resilient, and full of possibility,” said Bethany Dutcher, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at Members First Credit Union. “We’re grateful to our civic leaders, builders, and community partners for their collaboration, and to our members for their trust. This project represents what’s possible when we invest together with purpose.”
Dutcher also acknowledged the dedication of Members First team members whose care and enthusiasm make moments like this possible, noting that their commitment to serving our members is at the heart of the credit union’s mission.
This year holds special significance for Members First Credit Union as it celebrates 90 years of putting people first. The Bay City branch represents the next chapter in that legacy—one rooted in partnership, progress, and a shared commitment to creating thriving communities.
To mark the occasion, guests received Michiganmade swag bags featuring local favorites, including products from Michigan Sugar, Jerky Outlet, St. Laurent Brothers, Great Lakes Shark Sock Company, Heidi’s Darn Good Cookies, and Live Oak Coffeehouse—a small way to highlight and celebrate the local businesses that make Bay City unique.
Construction of the Bay City branch is expected to be completed by the end of 2026.
