2025 Joy in Teaching Grants

9/10/2025

Members First Credit Union (M1) is proud to continue its commitment to Michigan educators through its Joy in Teaching Grants program. This year, M1 will award 40 grants of $500 each to help fund classroom projects that spark creativity, curiosity, and deeper learning for students.

“Every teacher has unique ideas that can transform their classrooms into extraordinary spaces for learning,” said Bethany Dutcher, Vice President of Marketing at Members First Credit Union. “Our Joy in Teaching Grants are designed to help turn those ideas into reality.”

Last year’s grant recipients put their awards to work in inspiring ways, from stocking up on essential school supplies to bringing creative ideas to life. Their projects ranged from hands-on STEM activities and flexible seating to literacy programs, mental wellness resources, and even practical needs like an air conditioner to make the classroom more comfortable. Each project not only enriched students’ learning experiences but also reminded teachers that their creativity, passion, and dedication truly make a difference.

The 2025 Joy in Teaching Grants application window is open from September 15, 2025, to October 15, 2025. All Michigan Pre-K through 12th grade educators are eligible to apply, with recipients announced by November 30. Applications must be submitted online. Members First employees, directors, volunteers, and their immediate family members are not eligible.
