When Community Impact Comes Full Circle
The Members First Credit Union team recently volunteered with Habitat for Humanity’s Neighborhood Revitalization initiative, which is dedicated to strengthening neighborhoods through safe, affordable housing and critical home repairs.
The initiative combines new home construction with exterior and interior home improvements, helping preserve housing stability, enhance safety, and foster long-term neighborhood pride. By bringing together volunteers, partners, and homeowners, Habitat for Humanity creates a lasting impact that extends well beyond individual properties supporting broader community revitalization and connection.
During the project, M1 team members spent the day working alongside fellow volunteers to help refresh and improve a local home. What made the experience especially meaningful was learning that the homeowner was also one of our members—creating a powerful full-circle moment that highlighted the heart of M1’s mission to serve and support our communities.
“It was a meaningful full-circle moment to be working on a home and then find out the homeowner is one of our members," shared Melissa Syring, Mortgage Loan Officer at Members First. "Being able to meet her, hear her story, and be part of improving a place that means so much to her made the experience even more meaningful for our team."
Moments like these remind us of the real impact behind community service, where financial partnerships and volunteer efforts intersect with the lives of the people we serve every day. We believe in showing up for our communities in meaningful, hands-on ways—through homeownership support, financial guidance, and volunteer efforts.
Together, we’re building more than homes, we’re creating thriving communities.
