90 Years of Making an Impact

6/12/2026

Showing Up for the Communities We Call Home.

When you live in a great community, you feel it. It's seeing neighbors come together at local events, students reaching important milestones, and people lending a hand to make their hometown a little better.

For 90 years, Members First Credit Union has had the privilege of being part of those moments.

Over the years, we've supported local schools, nonprofits, youth programs, and community organizations across Michigan. But what matters most isn't the sponsorship banner or the event itself—it's the impact those efforts have on the people who call these communities home.

90 years of joy

midland blooms

Take Midland Blooms, for example. What starts as planting flowers and beautifying public spaces becomes something much bigger. It creates places where people want to gather, spend time outdoors, and take pride in their community. Small improvements can make a neighborhood feel more welcoming and connected.

Little Free Library

The same is true for our Little Free Library partnerships. A simple book exchange can spark a child's love of reading, provide access to stories for families, and create opportunities for neighbors to connect. It's a reminder that sometimes the smallest things can have a lasting impact.

School Sessions

We've also partnered with local schools and organizations to help create opportunities for students. Through scholarships, educational programs, and community support, we've had the chance to invest in young people as they prepare for what's next. There's nothing quite like seeing a student gain confidence knowing their community believes in them.

Community impact isn't always found at an event, though. Sometimes it happens one person at a time.

For Deborah P., it meant feeling financially secure for the first time in years.

"I am so grateful for Members First Credit Union. I have been able to build up my credit score and feel more financially secure for the first time in my 57 years because of my credit union. This has changed my life. Thank you!"

Stories like Deborah's are a reminder that community is built through relationships. Whether it's helping someone buy their first home, improve their financial health, or simply feel more confident about their future, those moments matter.

Because this is our home, too.

We attend the local events, volunteer alongside our neighbors, and celebrate the successes of the communities we serve. As we celebrate 90 years, we're grateful for the people, organizations, and communities that have allowed us to be part of their story.

And we look forward to continuing to show up, support local initiatives, and help our communities thrive for years to come.
