There are always fun and exciting things going on in your community. Sometimes it may be hard to make time, or a little bit of a drive, but usually once you go somewhere it will be a positive experience!
We all go to events for various reasons. A grad party, wedding, family reunion, a volunteer event, a sporting event, or even somewhere to learn a new skill; whatever the reason might be, we all enjoy a little bit of social time in our lives and being able to catch up with old friends, family, or co-workers.
No matter what the reason, we are all looking for something to do at one point or another. The tough part, is figuring out what exactly you would like to do and when. So here are 50 ideas in or around your community that you could try out this Fall!

Oct. 2 - Join the Jam Bam Poetry Slam in Midland at Creative 360 for something different!
Oct. 4 - Stop by the Northwood University International Auto Show (NUIAS) Driven in Midland! Admission is free.
Oct. 12 - Stop by a local hangout spot in Sanford, Brady’s Hometown Pizza, and enjoy some freshly made pizza and other tasty treats! #ShopLocal
Oct. 21 - Listen to the Tunes for Tots Jazz Music by Roland Wallace and his jazz duo at the Midland Center for the Arts. This starts at 10am and admission is free.
Oct. 22 - Check out the Pumpkin Festival in Downtown Midland from 6-7:30pm.
Oct. 29 - Attend “An Evening in Wonderland” at the Great Hall in Midland. This adult Halloween party has backdrops built by students, food tasting from local restaurants and businesses, and micro-brews and wines available to drink. Tickets are $40 for one, $75 for two, and the event is from 7–9pm.
Nov. 6 - Check out the new Aftershock Indoor Trampoline Park in Midland! It’s the first of its kind in the area and sure to be a great time for all ages!
Nov. 20 - Join the Cocktails & Canvas – Peacock event at Creative 360 in Midland. This is from 7pm-9pm and admission is $35 cash/check, $38 debit/credit. Creative 360 will provide all the supplies and instruction, and you will take home your own stretched canvas of the featured painting!
Nov. 21 - Go enjoy the Santa Parade in Downtown Midland and stop by Pizza Sam’s after for some delicious pizza with the family!
Nov. 30 - Recover from Thanksgiving by getting active at the Midland Community Center! There are always tons of classes and free time for the pools, workout areas, rock climbing walls, racquetball rooms, and etc.!
Dec. 1 - Take a stroll down Main St. in Midland to catch Santa’s Arrival and the Courthouse Lighting!
Oct. 3 - Enjoy the Homecoming parade on Main St. in Mt. Pleasant at 11am, and then cheer on the Chippewas at their 3pm Homecoming football game vs. Northern Illinois.
Oct. 5 - Are you up for a challenge? Test your rock climbing skills at CMU’s climbing wall in Finch Fieldhouse.
Oct. 13 - Are you feeling adventurous today? Try out sky diving at the Mt. Pleasant Municipal Airport.
Oct. 16 - Take your Boss out for National Boss’s Day, and enjoy a comedy at CMU’s theater production of Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike performed at Bush Theater at 7:30pm.
Oct. 20 - It’s CRDL Teen Tuesday! Shepherd Community Library is hosting a Halloween Movie Madness marathon.
Oct. 30 - Take the kids to downtown Mt. Pleasant from 4-6 p.m. for trick-or-treating at local businesses for the Pumpkin Promenade!
Nov. 4 - Take the kids to Veteran’s Memorial Library in Mt. Pleasant for make-and-take crafts from 3:30-4:30pm.
Nov. 7 - Check out the awesome booths at the Keepsake Collection Folk Art and Craft Show at West Intermediate. Then have dinner at the Lion’s Club chili supper.
Nov. 14 - Ladies, make your way downtown for shopping, food, and fun at Mt. Pleasant’s annual Ladies Night Out.
Nov. 22 - Catch a $5 Sunday movie at Celebration Cinema in Mt. Pleasant.
Nov. 24 – Spend your day helping others by volunteering at the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen. #wemakeadifference
Nov. 27 - It’s Black Friday! Take a shopping break to cheer on the Central Michigan Chippewas for their last home game of the season against Eastern Michigan. #FireUpChips

Oct. 24 - Join the Clare Pumpkin 5K Run/Walk and Halloween Spook-Tacular in downtown Clare! Be ready for some fun and Halloween festivities!
Oct. 28 - Take your furry friend or your friends and their pets for some fresh air at the local park!
Oct. 30 - Stop by the Harrison Library today for some fun and learning opportunities! Story time for the children is at 10:30am, followed by a class on Microsoft Word at 1pm and a class on working Apple/Mac computers at 4pm.
Nov. 28 - Head downtown for Small Business Saturday and shop locally owned businesses and then stop by the Clare Christmas Festival for some fun!
Sept. 30 - The 33rd Annual Ducks Unlimited Banquet will be held at the Riverwalk Place in Gladwin!
Oct. 14 - Head out to Clare High School to watch the Varsity Soccer Teams from Clare, Gladwin, and more compete in the Championship games! Show your local team some community support!
Oct. 23 - Join the Gladwin Jeep Creep at Riverwalk Place for tons of jeeps, prize giveaways, drawings, live entertainment, open chili bar, and more!
Nov. 11 - Volunteer, perform a good deed or random act of kindness. Pick up trash or carry out someone’s groceries. Do something to help make a positive difference in your local community. #wemakeadifference
Nov. 20 - Enjoy the Paint & Sip event at 8pm at Riverwalk Place in Gladwin for some wine, snacks, discounts, and the Paint & Sip Class!
Oct. 6 - Show the Evart Varsity Volleyball team some support at one of their last home games against McBain at 7pm!
Oct. 10 - Stop by the Evart Farmer’s Market one last time before it closes up for the season!

Nov. 19 - Warm up and get a workout in at one of your local gym or fitness centers!
Nov. 24 – Join the Marion Knitting Club any Tuesday from 1pm-3pm at the Marion Public Library to learn a new skill!
Oct. 1 - Enjoy a night of sampling beer, wine, and snacks among friends at the Wein and Stein 2015. Travel to 13 different serving locations featuring new products in the Frankenmuth area. Shuttle service is available. Tickets are $25 per person, and you must be 21 years of age to participate.
Oct. 7 - Be a part of the Greatest of the Great Lakes Bay Party at the Bavarian Inn Lodge in Frankenmuth! VIP tickets that include two drink tickets are $40, or General Admission tickets are $25. Stop by, grab a goodie bag, check out the food, and mingle!
Oct. 9 - Crabby Clam & Lobster Fest in Frankenmuth which features king crab, lobster, clam, and BBQ chicken dinners. Free admissions, raffle prizes, and free live entertainment.
Oct. 25 - Stop by the Scarecrow Festival at the Frankenmuth River Place Shops from 10-6pm. See scarecrows on display throughout the streets and take part in all sorts of activities including inflatables, pumpkin catapult, pumpkin painting, pumpkin bowling, trick or treating, face painting, and a straw bale maze!
Nov. 10 - Enjoy recipes shared by SVSU International students from around the world at the International Food Festival. Admission is $8.50, and the event will be at Saginaw Valley State University.
Nov. 15 - Is your boyfriend or husband still out hunting? Come check out the “Deer Widows Weekend” at Birch Run Premium Outlets for one of its biggest and most popular annual sales featuring 145 stores!
Nov. 23 - Enjoy a concert at Saginaw Valley State University provided by the Cardinal Marching Band! Admission is free and it starts at 7:30pm.
Nov. 5 - Learn a new skill and take a Ballroom Dance & Lesson class at the Freeland SportsZone. Every Thursday from 7pm-10pm for $10 you can learn to dance with a professional dance instructor with snacks and refreshments being served. Singles and couples welcome!
