MFCU accomplished many goals and did some amazing things in 2014. We trained and encouraged our employees to embrace an improved lending culture with many new ideas being brought to life! MFCU staff continued to help make a positive difference in not only the lives of our members, but in our community as well.
MFCU Awarded Caring Company of the Year by United Way of Midland County
At United Way’s Spirit of the Community Event, MFCU was recognized as the Caring Company of the Year for our continuous dedication to community involvement and people helping people.
The staff at MFCU has participated in numerous Community Difference Projects in the 8 counties that we serve. These projects included bake sales, fundraisers, food drives, etc. for local family and children’s organizations. We also took advantage of many unique opportunities like the ALS ice bucket challenge, donating meat from the Clare County Fair to The Stone Soup Project in Farwell, and being a part of Midland County Habitat for Humanity’s Neighborhood Revitalization Project!
People “Like” us!
At the end of 2012, our Facebook only had 322 likes. Two years later, there are over 2,400 likes! That’s two thousand, four hundred people that “like” us! #wemakeadifference #facebookfriends
We saved our members, WHAT?!
In 2014, MFCU changed our culture and implemented new strategies and ideas to help launch our Save A Member Money campaign and sharing the fact that we had $84 million to lend. This campaign resulted in over $1.7 million dollars that we saved our members!
New Harrison Office
In October of 2014, members and staff gathered together for the grand opening at our new Harrison branch.
Upgraded Website and Online & Mobile Banking
You asked, and we listened! During 2014, we made improvements to our website, online banking, and mobile banking in order to provide easier navigation, user friendly services, better security and 24/7 access to your money.

We made improvements to our branches by updating each of them with our new branding, keeping our brick and mortar up to date, fresh and fun!
Cathleen Louisignau and Pat Sexton Received the President’s Award
Cathleen and Pat received this award due to their hard work and dedication throughout 2014. Both recipients are prompt, dependable, enthusiastic, and willing to go to great lengths to provide excellent service to members and co-workers while also volunteering for credit union events.
Splish, splash, the kids club was having a blast!
The 14th Annual Kids Day at Soaring Eagle’s Waterpark with over 250 parents and children who attended for some fun in the waterpark.
First Annual Family Day at the Pumpkin Patch in Midland
This year was our first ever Family Day! It was held at Grandma’s Pumpkin Patch in Midland with over 300 people attending for some family fun. Members were able to visit the animals, enjoy cider and donuts, and walk through the pumpkin patch together.
Awarded 7 students with $1,000 scholarships
Each year our Swinging for Scholarships Golf Outing raises money for scholarships to local students. Another 7 students were awarded this year with money to help them continue their education.
