The Penny Farewell Tour
You may have noticed fewer pennies in your change lately —and there’s a reason.
The U.S. Mint has officially stopped producing pennies. As a result, credit unions and banks, including Members First, can no longer order pennies like we used to.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Rolls of pennies will no longer be available for purchase or part of cash withdrawals.
- We will continue to accept rolled pennies for deposit.
- You may still receive pennies in your change or cash back while supplies last.
What you can do:
- Bring in your extra pennies. Be sure to roll them so they are ready for deposit.
- Use exact change when possible, to keep transactions smooth.
- Take advantage of digital payments when it’s convenient for you.
Thank you for helping us navigate this change—pun intended!
