Kris Walters Promoted to VP of Human Resources

Members First Credit Union (M1) is proud to announce the promotion of Kris Walters to Vice President of Human Resources, recognizing her long-standing leadership, dedication to employee development, and commitment to cultivating a people-first culture.

Walters brings 22 years of human resources experience, including 19 years with M1, where she has consistently driven initiatives that strengthen organizational culture and enhance employee engagement. Her contributions have helped M1 earn the 2021 President’s Strategic Impact Award for the Human Resources Team.

In her new role, Walters will oversee strategic HR initiatives, including developing and implementing HR strategies, workforce planning, and ensuring regulatory compliance. She will drive process improvement, project execution, and organization-wide alignment to support business goals and ensure resources are used effectively. Walters will continue to champion programs that enhance M1’s culture and deliver exceptional experiences for employees and members alike.

Walters holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resources from Oakland University. She is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and maintains additional professional certifications, including CCUE, CCUFC, and SHRM-CP.
