Community Involvement

We are dedicated to Making a Positive Difference in not only the lives of our members, but also our community. Involvement through volunteer hours and monetary donations and sponsorships is what credit unions are all about; “People Helping People.”

Some of our most recent endeavors include:

 

 

Community Difference Project

Members First Credit Union has begun the Community Difference Project! We created this project to impact peoples' lives in positive ways. Whether it's to volunteer, perform a good deed, or provide support to people in need, we're here to create better lives for people in our community.

 Popcorn for Education 

Every other Friday Members First Credit Union pop's popcorn to raise money for education. You can pick up a bag of popcorn for just $1.00 at either our Wackerly or Dartmouth office every Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. All proceeds go to helping education in our community. Through our efforts of raising money we are able to give teacher grants to help teachers expand their classroom and buy supplies!

 

 

 Lizard Fair 

Members First Credit Union joined together with Lizard Fair to become a main sponsor of the event! Our MFCU Crew played trivia with contestants and gave out gift cards before and during the show. the MFCU Crew had a great time during the concert and getting to be out with the community.

 

 

 Relay for Life 

Through Members First Credit Union's volunteer efforts we were able to raise about $4,000 for the American Cancer Society through Relay for Life. We had full support from our staff and members helping us raise money through feet sales, luminaria bags, The Great Lakes Loons parking, a Fazoli's fundraiser and fundraising at Relay for Life. We even had one of our own employee's donate her hair!

 

 2011 Scholarship Recipients  

Members First Credit Union was excited to announce our 2011 Scholarship Recipients. Among the applicants we chose, two students recieved a $1,000 award, two studentsat $750, and three at $500. Members First Credit Union is Making a Positive Difference in the Community by helping students further their education and life goals.

 Companies that Care 

Members First Credit Union was named one of the 30 "Companies that Care" in Midland County by United Way! MFCU received a certificate of Special Congressional Recognition on May 4th. The award recognizes organizations who demonstrate their commitment to strengthening the community through volunteerism and supporting the mission of United Way. We are excited to be a part of such as special honor. We are happy to Make a Positive Difference in our community through our volunteering efforts.

 

 Special Olympics 

This was Members First Credit Union's first year volunteering at the Special Olympics in Mount Pleasant. We helped assist with games during the day and hope to be a part of such a great cause in the following years!

 

 Daffodil Days 

Through the American Cancer Society, Members First Credit Union helped to raise money to save lives. Those who donated to the American Cancer Society received a daffodil for their contribution. Not only was this to give out beautiful flowers, but to help fight back, raise awareness ad hopefully one day find a cure for cancer.

 

 Be My Neighbor Day 

Through United Way, Members First Credit Union was able to help out someone in need by cleaning up their yard in time for spring! We pulled weeds, trimmed hedges and raked leaves.

 

 

 Santa Parade 

Our staff came together to build a winter wonderland for the 2010 Santa Parade! They enjoyed being a part of the day.

 

  Sharing Tree

For several years Members First Credit Union has been happy to sponsor a sharing tree around the holidays. We have many members and employees help bring in items to those less fortunate, especially around the holidays.
