6 Creative Ways to put a Life Happens Loan to Use

8/17/2021

Some may call it a personal loan, but at Members First Credit Union we call it a Life Happens Loan because we know that life happens! Most people think of emergencies and unexpected expenses when it comes to getting a life happens loan, but it can be used for so much more. If your finances are just short of you being able to reach your life goals, a loan might be able to help you get there! Here are a few ways you can put a Life Happens Loan to work for you:

Moving costs

There are only a handful of moments in life that can bring your stress levels to a breaking point, and moving can definitely be one of them. It’s already stressful enough packing up your entire life into boxes and moving it across the state, country, or even the world. Unfortunately, the various costs that come with moving can add heavily to that stress. If moving expenses are proving to be too much to handle, a loan can help alleviate some of the pressure of your relocation.

Vacations

Is your wanderlust calling, but your bank account is saying “nope”? Taking your dream vacation can be the chance of a lifetime, but it can also come with a hefty price tag. Flights, hotels, food, transportation, there are a lot of expenses that come with traveling and they can add up fast, even if you are doing things on a budget. Before you pass on a relaxing vacation with your friends, family, or partner, consider using a loan for your jetsetting dreams.

Large Purchases

Maybe you need a new oven, air conditioning unit, or washer and dryer, maybe you’ve been thinking about finally getting that hot tub or pool, or maybe you have been eyeing that new laptop or tablet for the upcoming school year. Whatever big-ticket item you’ve been dreaming about, we can help you make it a reality. While purchases like these may seem out of reach in your current financial state, a life happens loan can make it possible today.

Home improvement projects

With the rising costs of lumber and other construction expenses, you might be thinking of putting off that renovation or major repair for another year. Not only can a renovation make your home more beautiful than it already is, it can increase the value of your home. Taking out a life happens loan for home improvement or renovation not only helps pay for the project in the short term, but it is also a long term investment in the future of your home.

Debt Consolidation

If you have been carrying around debt that feels overwhelming and unmanageable, a life happens loan can help take some of the weight off by helping to consolidate your debt. Everyone knows debt like credit card debt can feel like a never ending process of interest rates and payments. Instead of making multiple payments, you’ll combine your debts into one monthly payment, ideally with a lower interest rate, and reduce the time it takes you to pay everything off.
